Founding and Naming Be Cause Business Resources, Inc.

Be Cause Business Resources, Inc. was begun in 2003 by John Anderson. In the fall of 2002, John began taking graduate management classes at Antioch University, Seattle. In January 2003, he took a course in Executive Coaching taught by a Boeing executive coach. Extensive practice in coaching methods and study of consulting theory followed. He attended professional coaching conferences. John began offering coaching services to entrepreneurs striving to improve their organization and grow their ventures.

Kate (Kathleen) Packard suggested the name Be Cause as in to “be cause” in a matter. “Being cause” or “to be cause” is to create, to drive the action and to be responsible for results. John and Kate have done extensive personal and professional development programs since the mid-1980s. Other graduate courses, taught by working organizational psychology professionals in facilitation were taken. In the summer of 2005, John completed his Master of Science degree in management with his thesis on a social change project using community outreach to promote distance education. John was convinced that high-touch coaching, facilitation and consulting skills could be used to assist business owners located in rural areas via the then growing technology of online screen sharing, audio, and video communications.

John believes in ongoing professional training. He is a professional member of the Institute of Management Consultants and past president of the Oregon & Washington chapter. John has achieved Toastmasters International’s highest award “Distinguished Toastmaster.” He has served in many Toastmaster leadership roles. At the Oregon & SW Washington district level, he has been Public Relations Officer and Area 83 Governor (Director).  At the Early Words Toastmaster club in Longview, he’s a past club president, vice president. John served as “Word Master” at the Altrusa “Spell-ebration” in March 2015. He facilitated a non-profit speaker series in the Thursday Focus, a professional development group in Vancouver, Washington 2013-2016.

At the Carson College of Business, Washington State University Vancouver, John taught Management Operations 340 and mentored advanced students between 2014-2017.
